Eykamp String Quartet

Mannheim Steamroller
April 2. The Centre, 715 Locust St. This 22-piece orchestra gets its name from the 18th century musical technique known today as the crescendo. Organized by Chip Davis, this unique group combines all areas of music in his “18th century classical rock band” style. 7:30 p.m. $20, $35, and $50. (812) 435-5544.

Passport to Adventure Benefit Auction

Rite of Spring.
April 4. Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science, 411 SE Riverside Drive. This year’s musical soirée, presented by University of Evansville students, faculty, and friends, celebrates the career of Edwin Lacy, the Oramay Cluthe Eades Distinguished Professor of Music at UE, retiring after 40 years. Realism and Wood Sculpture: Creating with a Dremel
April 4-May 9. Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science, 411 SE Riverside Drive. Join local sculptor Amy Musia in learning the basic skills involved in carving wood with this lesser known sculptor’s tool – the dremel. Musia will demonstrate how to take a small scale project from concept to final product with subject matter being objects from nature. 9-11 a.m. Cost for six-week class is $200 for museum members; $220 for non-members, $220. Annual Herb Fest Opening Day
April 5. Newburgh Country Store, 224 W. Jennings St., Newburgh. All you ever wanted to know about herbs and more – right at your backdoor. Shop for herbs, garden accessories, and attend seminars dedicated to how to decorate with planters and choosing the right scents for your gardens. $2 per class. Continues on weekends through April. 34th Annual Spring Fair

Under the Beams Concert Series: Over the Rhine
April 5. Rapp-Owen Granary, 413 Granary St., New Harmony. Husband and wife duo Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist, better known as Over the Rhine, captivate the audience with their imaginative, vintage jazz, and soothing songwriting. Demolition City Roller Derby
April 5. Evansville Coliseum, 300 Court St. Evansvillian Molly Hartshorn founded the Demolition City Roller Derby to bring the rough-and-tumble sport back to the city. Adventures in Storytelling with Susan E. Fowler
April 5, 12, 19. Civic Theatre Annex, Washington Square Mall. One of the area’s most noted storytellers will teach parents and children the art of interactive storytelling. Cherryholmes in Concert
