Tucker Publishing Group, award-winning publisher of the bimonthly Evansville Living and Evansville Business magazines, as well as annual publications and custom projects for clients, is seeking a staff writer. Past duties have included compiling the arts and entertainment event listings, writing up-front pieces and department stories, and pitching story ideas for the magazines. The staff writer also will develop online content, proofread pages, and post social media messages for our users. This candidate must be enthusiastic and hard working, a go-getter who always is looking for story ideas, and willing to accept and adapt to constructive criticism.
Requirements: An undergraduate degree in journalism, writing, communications, or a related field is preferred. Other assets include a solid business and interview etiquette, mastery of Microsoft Word and Excel, the ability to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines, and personal responsibility. Knowledge of The Associated Press Stylebook and the Evansville community are a plus but not required.
