This reception and subsequent exhibit are a collaboration with Aurora, the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, local college photography students, and most importantly, those who are homeless or recently experienced homelessness here in the Tri-State.

The Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Association Annual Butterfly Day focuses on butterflies and the plants that support them. Learn about caterpillars, chrysalises, and butterflies as well as their host and nectar plants! This educational event is free and open to the public.

The Tough Cookie Mud Run is a 5k through the rugged woodland and steep hills of the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana’s resident camp facility, Camp Koch. Participants can expect natural and man-made obstacles, muddy pits, an artic dip, and fire.

The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra kicks off its 87th season on Aug. 28 with "Rhapsody in Blue" gala at the Tropicana Riverfront Event Center beginning at 6 p.m. The event begins with a champagne and hors d'oeurves welcome followed by a Twenties-themed dinner catered by Michelle Horty and her Tropicana staff. Local bands will be performing throughout the evening, including After Hours, Tom Drury on piano, and Monte Skelton, bringing instrumental music during the social hour, dinner, and evening dancing.

Hang out with a real dinosaur, help create the newest EVPL libarary card design, and share your stories and memories of EVPL all month long.

Kuntsfest is the Tri-States’ biggest festival and celebrates New Harmony’s deep German heritage! This year’s festival on September 18 & 19 will feature a German Bier Garten, great German food and music, as well as over 200 vendors! It is a sight to behold and tons of fun for Germans (or just those who want to be at Kuntsfest) of all ages. Children events and heritage artisans will demonstrate their crafts.

Jasper Community Arts with support from Keusch Glass Inc. is pleased to present the work of former Jasper native now residing in Philadelphia, PA, Stacey Lee Webber, on display for the months of August and September at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center. Webber has exhibited her work around the world including the Cheongju International Craft Biennale in the Republic of Korea, Gallery Okariya in Tokyo, and Sophie Lachaert Gallery in Belgium.

The Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science is featuring an exhibit by Gary Zuercher, award winning photographer and author of 'The Glow of Paris: The Bridges of Paris, from Aug. 25 through Nov. 7. The 'Glow of Paris' exhibition features 86 silver gelatin, black and white photographs from the book accompanied by maps showing the Seine River bridge locations, discussions of the bridge histories, story panels, a four-minute video and cell phone audio tour through the exhibit.

On Monday, September 20, join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana for their 9th Annual Golf for Kids' Sake event at Cambridge Golf Course. Lunch will begin at 11 a.m. with shotgun starting at 12 p.m. The cost is $500 per foursome or $125 per person.

Willard Public Library's annual fundraiser will take place during normal library business hours the week of Sept. 20 in The Browning Gallery in the library's lower level. This fundraiser gives the public the opportunity to purchase books that are considered rare antique and special collections. Books will be sold at full price Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, books will be half price. Thursday and Friday, bags of books will be sold for $20 each. Books will be individually priced to sell and Stave Puzzles will be full price all week.
