Angel Mounds State Historic Site, 8215 Pollack Ave.
An "a-maize-ing maze" or "amazing maize," either way you look at it, the Angel Mounds Corn Maze is a celebration of this Native American super food. Learn how agriculture shaped a civilization with a visit to the museum, then head to the corn for a mind-bending team-building activity of "mythological" proportions. A scavenger hunt will have you tracking down supernatural beings said to reside in the lower, middle, and upper worlds of ancient Native American cosmology. Each visitor receives a free s'mores packet, and children enjoy the barrel train rides included with admission. Weekend evenings feature extra tricks and treats for the little ones from 7 to 9 p.m.
$5 per person.
