2nd Annual Taste of Scotland

0

From Inverness to Glasgow and the lush green fescue in between, French Lick Resort will celebrate Scotland and all things Celtic, by hosting its second annual Taste of Scotland – Highlands in the Valley event on February 21, 2015. Building on last year’s success, guests will enjoy a Celtic cultural experience along with scotch and Irish whiskey and a Robert Burns tribute dinner.

This year’s keynote address will be delivered by author and photographer, Sharyn Wyllie. Wyllie’s book, Scotland…Through the Eyes of an American is a must read for anyone planning a trip to Scotland. Part beautiful photography and part travel guide not only is it art but an important reference piece, as well. Also at the podium will be Jan Tellstrom, the resort’s Golf Pro Emeritus. Tellstrom’s talk will cover Scotland’s other export – golf and its rich tradition at French Lick Resort.

“Scotch School” – also known as everything you ever wanted to know about scotch but were afraid to ask – conducted by certified spirits specialist Matthew Phillips and master of scotch, Ross Graham will be held throughout the day. Other can’t miss events are the highland games exhibition, vendors, kilt rental, pipes and Scottish country dance. The day winds down with scotch and Irish whiskey tasting, Robert Burns Tribute Dinner with all the traditional courses and musical performances by Fiddle N Feet and Colin Grant-Adams.
This year’s event will highlight more than 20 labels of scotch and Irish whiskey – with musical performances, dancers, highland games exhibition and merchandise for sale. So don a kilt or tartan and make plans to attend the second annual Taste of Scotland event at French Lick Resort. Hotel package includes an overnight stay at either French Lick Springs Hotel or West Baden Springs Hotel, admission to keynote speeches, scotch school, scotch and whiskey tasting, the Burns tribute dinner and more.
