The 2015 Evansville Christmas on North Main Parade will be held Sunday, Nov. 22. The parade will begin in the Civic Center parking lot, proceed down Ninth Street to Main Street under the Lloyd Expressway and up North Main Street. The Evansville’s Christmas on North Main Parade has partnered again this year with the Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights (to benefit Easter Seals) which extends the parade route all the way up the North Main corridor into Garvin Park, past the fountain, and end at Heidelbach Ave. The parade will include local bands from area high schools as well as floats, clowns, cars, dignitaries, other marching and performing groups, some suprises, and Santa. Visitors also will enjoy a "preview" of Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights, as selected displays will be illuminated to provide a "sneak peak" of the Easter Seals fundraising event (which opens on Thanksgiving night).
Pre-parade activites will again include Santa’s Workshop. This year, Santa’s Workship will be bigger and better. The new location will be at SWIRCA, 16 W. Virginia St. Festivities start at noon and continue to the start of the parade. The workshop includes entertainment, a special performance by the Boom Squad, a petting zoo, arts and crafts by cMoe’s Children Museum, a hot cocoa bar, and cookies for the kids. There will be fun-filled clowns and pictures with Santa. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, however, children must be accompanied by an adult.
