Museum members and non-members are invited to tour the museum, and the event is free and open to the public.
Museum Tours generally last about an hour and begin with an introductory film in the reception area. A museum docent then leads visitors through permanent exhibit areas on two floors. In addition to the Lincoln Gardens apartment from the 1940’s, other areas include a historic timeline of Lincoln Gardens, the Baptisttown Neighborhood Interactive Exhibit, the Evansville “Wall of Fame,” the Lincoln School Exhibit, and the Emancipation Quilt.
After their tour, visitors can linger to explore more of the museum’s collections and oral histories at its new Interactive Kiosk, and a visit to the museum gift shop.
