The Evansville, Indiana-produced documentary film "From the Ashes: The University of Evansville Purple Aces" will make its public premiere at next month’s Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis.

The film, which tells the story of the 1977 UE Men’s Basketball team and the tragic plane crash that killed 29 people (including all 14 players), will debut at 4:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Oct. 27. A second showing will follow at 9:15 a.m. CT Saturday, Oct. 29.
