Harvest Moon Eclipse

0

The Evansville Museum will host an admission-free opportunity to view the Harvest Moon Eclipse with telescopes on its Schroeder Plaza outside the museum, weather permitting. The eclipse will occur shortly after sunset and until past midnight. During a total lunar eclipse, the normally bright full moon darkens visibly as it passes through the shadow of Earth. In addition to being visibly darkened, a reddish or brown cast is often observed on the lunar surface. The entire event progresses over a span of several hours beginning at 8:07 p.m. but will be darkest between 9:11 p.m. and 10:23 p.m.
