Newburgh Celebrates Christmas kicks off Friday, Dec. 4 with the lighting of the luminaires at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to join in singing Christmas carols.
Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6 from noon to 4 p.m., the town will turn back the clock to 1880s. There will be carolers and musicians on the street corner and even more people roasting chestnuts over the open fire. During this event, people will be dressed in period costume, can participate in the Find the Elf Scavenger Hunt, or visit the Newburgh Museum exhibit and partake of a taste of plum pudding.
From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, visit with Santa and Mrs. Clause. Take your own photo or maybe a selfie with ol’ Kris Kringle for free. The Castle Knight Sensations will round out the weekend with a public concert at 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening and then the town will light its Christmas trees.
