Leonard Bernstein’s Mass Symposia

Join the four-person panel of Biblical and musical scholars for Leonard Bernstein’s Mass Symposia taking place in October and November. The panel includes Maestro Alfred Savia, Music Director of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra Don Colton, University of Evansville Professor Emeritus of Music Father Steve Lintzenich, Retire Pastor for Catholic Diocese of Evansville Andrew Drury, Adjunct Voice Instructor of the University of Southern Indiana, and the University of Evansville and Evansville Philharmonic choral conductor.

The symposia will be centered on the crisis of one’s faith, as dramatized in Bernstein’s Mass, "A Theatre piece for singers, players, and dancers."

Symposia times and locations include:

5 p.m., Oct. 30, at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1800 Lincoln Ave.

7 p.m., Nov. 2, Kleymeyer Hall Room LA0101 at University of Southern Indiana, 8600 University Blvd.

7 p.m., Nov. 3, Wyttenbach Lecture Hall, Graves Hall, University of Evansville, 1800 Lincoln Ave.

Noon, Nov. 9, Bower Suhrheinrich Room, Arts Council Southwestern Indiana, 318 Main St.

The symposia is free and open to the public.
