Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance – Romeo & Juliet

Shakespeare’s classic tale of tragic romance "Romeo & Juliet" is coming to life on the big screen in Evansville for a one-night-only cultural event presented by Lincoln Center. Stars Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan host the new cinema series, "Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance."

Since its creation by San Francisco Balley Company’s artistic director and principal choreographer Helgi Tomasson in 1994, "Romeo & Juliet" has played to sold-out houses and taken its place as one of the finest dance interpretations of the passionate tale. With its national theatrical premier Sept. 24, two of the company’s most celebrated principal dancers, Maria Kochetkova and Davit Karapetyan, dance the title roles, joined by the 75-member company that The New York TImes called, "a national treasure."
