Mid-America Institute on Aging

0

"You are never too old to chase your dreams," says 64-year-old endurance swimmer Diana Nyad, who last year became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage. Diana will bring her inspirational story to the University of Southern Indiana during the Mid-America Institute on Aging (MAIA).

MAIA, co-sponsored by SWIRCA & More, is a two-day gerontology conference that will provide practical tools and groundbreaking information related to healthy aging. There will be inspirational keynote speakers, as well as multiple sessions on a wide range of topics, including fitness and exercise, nutrition, and identity theft, and coping with illness.

For health professionals, nurses, social workers, employees working in long-term care settings, nursing home administrators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, dental professionals, case managers, caregivers and members of the community.

Visit online for more about Diana Nyad and the other experts who will be speaking this year. Call to register. 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. each day.
