Wesselman Nature Society announces their 2016 Mothing dates. Moths far outnumber butterflies and are much more varied, but most people don’t notice them since they’re usually active at night.
Join Indiana Master Naturalist/Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Debbie Goedde for a look at these nocturnal beauties.
Mothing takes place on several dates during the summer at both Howell Wetlands and Wesselman Woods from 8 to 10 p.m.
Dates at Howell are May 7, June 4, July 30, Aug. 13, and Sept. 10.
Dates at Wesselman are June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, and Sept. 20.
Those attending are asked to bring a camp chair, bug spray, and a flashlight. No registration is required, but large groups are asked to call ahead.
