The Arts Council of Doom, Evansville’s premier counter-culture fine arts group, has collaborated with the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana for its third annual Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation Gallery art show. The exhibit, titled “#FINEARTREADYTOSHOW”, will feature work from more than 30 local and regional artists. An opening reception is scheduled for Oct. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arts Council. The free event is open to the public, and will include a cash bar provided by Acropolis and food sponsored by Lamasco Bar and Grill.
Members of the Arts Council of Doom have exhibited throughout the United States and within the Evansville area, including the Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation Gallery, the McCutchan Art Center and Pace Galleries at USI, and the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art. Most recently, the informal leaders of the group participated in creating a large-scale mural on the façade of Franklin Street’s Lamasco Bar and Grill. The group has been featured in articles in the Courier & Press and Evansville Living, as well as on WNIN’s The Trend.
