In "The Soloist" movie, which stars Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr., Evansville native Terri “Detroit” Hughes plays herself: a homeless, 88-pound woman with a drug addiction and mental illness living on “Skid Row” in Los Angeles. To introduce the movie at USI, Hughes will give a short talk about her remarkable journey from "Skid Row" to the movie screen. The movie is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the USI Homeless Symposium Planning Committee.
