The Evansville African American Museum will host Mike Capps, Chief of Interpretation and Resource Management at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. He will be speaking on “The Emancipation Memory of the Civil War.” The program will be Friday, February 13th from 6:00pm – 7:15pm in the Main Gallery of the museum. Cost is free for museum members, $3.00 for adult non-members, and $1.50 for non-member students. The museum is located at 579 S. Garvin St, at the corner of Garvin and Lincoln.
Mr. Capps is also the author of Indiana’s Lincolnland and has been featured on Book TV for C-SPAN.
While at the museum, visitors are encouraged to view the “Looking at Lincoln” Exhibit from the Gilder Lerhman Institute of American History. This traveling exhibit will be at EAAM through February 24th, and is part of the museum’s What is Freedom series.
