Holiday on the Lake

Celebrate Independence Day at Kentucky Lake.

Summer is in full swing, and the Fourth of July holiday is right around the corner. The Kentucky Lake and Marshall County area is a wonderful place to getaway for Independence Day celebrations with our BIG lake vibes and small-town charm. You can get the best of both whether you’re on land or water.

Begin the weekend with lake days. Visit our website for more information on boat rentals. There are also multiple opportunities to see fireworks on the water. Dates include:

• Saturday, July 1 at Kenlake Marina (watch by water or land)
• Saturday, July 1 at Southern Komfort Campground (watch by water)
• Sunday, July 2 at First Missionary Baptist Church (watch by land)
• Monday, July 3 at Moors Resort & Marina (watch by land or water)
• Monday, July 3 at Popi’s Restaurant (watch by land)
• Tuesday, July 4 at Memorial Park in Calvert City (watch by land)

If you’re more of a naturalist, there are plenty of recreational and nature program opportunities in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area, including an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration at “The Homeplace,” wildlife programs at the Nature Center, and laser light shows at the planetarium! Maybe try your luck shoreline fishing, do a little kayaking, or take a hike around Hematite Lake. Visit Land Between the Lakes’ website for a complete list of programs and activities,

On July 4, Calvert City invites you to attend a daylong Ameribration Celebration. This event kicks off in the morning with a cornhole tournament, arts and crafts fair, food vendors, and live music. Take a step back in time with the Calvert City history museum, free inflatables, petting zoo, and more. Later in the day, find your spot along Fifth Street for the Waves of Freedom parade, free watermelon, more music, and fireworks! Find a complete list of activities and times by visiting Calvert City’s Facebook page or its website.
