Start summer outside with fairs, summer socials, festivals, and more. Be mindful of the heat, though.

The Longest Day
9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. June 20, Evansville Duplicate Bridge Club, 1551 S. Green River Road
Last year, this Alzheimer’s fundraiser – held on the longest day of the year – raised more than $20,000. There’s no registration or entry fee; players can show up and join the morning or afternoon sessions. Free lunch is provided at noon. Donations are encouraged.

Haynie’s Corner Progressive Dinner
6-9:15 p.m. June 20, Sauced, 1113 Parrett St.
Start with dinner and appetizers at Sauced, then head to Spankey’s Una Cafe for dessert before ending at Mo’s House for cocktails. Tickets start at $50, and proceeds benefit The Arc of Evansville.

Haubstadt Sommerfest
June 20-22, near Cal Ripken Field, 500 W. Gibson St., Haubstadt, Indiana
These Gibson County festivities include a community parade, 5K race, bierstube, food booths, and live music.

Good Shepherd Summer Social
5-10 p.m. June 20-22, Good Shepherd Catholic Parish, 2301 N. Stockwell Road
Enjoy a silent auction, cash wheel, games and food booths, and nightly dinners with fried chicken, smoked pork chop, dumplings, mashed potatoes, green beans, and more. Learn more about regional summer socials here.

Homemade Lemon Shake-Up & Dessert Fundraiser

Residents of The Homeplace of Henderson, along with their culinary team, offer homemade summer treats to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Association.

Fish & Chips Fry
5-7 p.m. June 21, Germania Maennerchor, 916 N. Fulton Ave.
Partake in a $10 meal of fried fish sandwiches and fries to benefit the Germania Maennerchor Foundation’s annual scholarship for area high school seniors.

Wine & Canapé Tasting
5:30-7 p.m. June 21, Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, 212 Main St.
Hosted by Jeremy Huff and Entwined Wine & Cocktail Bar, support the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana with pairings of canapés – artichoke and olive, mushroom, and filet and mushroom – with specially selected wines. Registration costs $50.

Milano’s Dinner and a Musical Experience with Dirk McCord
6 p.m. June 21, Milano’s Italian Cuisine, 500 Main St.
Dirk McCord performs live alongside this beer, wine, and special dinner event at Milano’s. Registration is required, and tickets cost $5, benefiting the musician directly.

Shriners Fest
June 21-22, Riverside Drive
Head to the riverfront for the Hadi Shriners’ annual street party with live music, food vendors, craft vendors, a half pot raffle, cornhole tournament, car shows, 5K race, and more.

“Partial” by Bryce Hansen
7:30 p.m. June 21-22; 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. June 23, STAGEtwo at 321, 321 N. Congress Ave.
In this stage production by local playwright Bryce Hansen, a therapist discovers her place in the world – and workplace etiquette. Tickets cost $15.

Talking History

Meet with fellow history lovers for this monthly gathering and screen three orientation films shown to New Harmony, Indiana, visitors over the years. This month’s topic is “Getting to Know New Harmony.”

VinMoto Vintage Bike Show
11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 22, Evansville Harley-Davidson, 4700 E. Morgan Ave.
Browse vintage race bikes and motorcycles from around the region, with awards given out for best American, custom, European, and Japanese models.

Evansville Symphonic Band: Honoring Our Veterans
4-5 p.m. June 23, Central High School, 5400 N. First Ave.
Listen to patriotic songs and marches performed by this volunteer orchestra.
