Christian Picciolini, an award-winning television producer, public speaker, author, peace advocate, and a reformed violent extremist will give a free talk about his life and transformation from a white nationalist and skinhead. His appearance is presented by One God One Community.
After leaving the violent hate movement he helped create during his youth, he began the painstaking process of rebuilding his life. Picciolini began his own global media firm, cofounded nonprofit Life After Hate, and wrote his memoir, “White American Youth: My Descent into America’s Most Violent Hate Movement.”
Picciolini will make three speeches while in Evansville. His first event begins at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Victory Theatre. He also will speak to students at Memorial High School at 10:30 a.m. and Mater Dei High School at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 23. The first event is free to the public and a free will offering of cash and food items for the Tri State Food Bank will be accepted.
