Winter wouldn’t be as cozy if not for the tasty drinks from all your favorite local coffee spots. As December marches on, Honey Moon Coffee Co. has announced the addition of several seasonal flavors to get you in the holiday spirit — Snickerdoodle Latte, Sugarplum Fairy, Peppermint Mocha, Dirty Santa, and Mexican hot chocolate. What can be better than that? Well, a Sugarplum Fairy Lunar Cycle bubble waffle of course! Our staff took a trip to the coffee shop on Weinbach Avenue to get a taste of these treats — here’s what we thought!
Photographer Zach Straw (Sugarplum Fairy Latte): It’s like … a warm holiday night wrapped in a cozy blanket. I enjoyed it.
Managing Editor Trista Lutgring (Snickerdoodle Latte): Look I’m not big on sweet coffee drinks and this is perfect. Not overly sweet, just a good hint of that brown sugar and cinnamon. This is so, so, so good!
Creative Director Heather Gray (Sugarplum Fairy Lunar Cycle bubble waffle): It’s definitely something Buddy the Elf would approve of!
TL: That seems accurate given the whipped cream!
HG: And the syrup.
TL: Can you elaborate on that?
HG: Well, I just drank it directly from the cup, so I’d say it’s pretty tasty.
Graphic Designer Casey Scarbrough (Peppermint Mocha): When you take a sip, Michael Bublé jumps out and starts singing, “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.”
TL: It’s that merry and bright?
CS: I’m pretty sure that’s what happened.
TL: Overall feelings about the winter offerings at Honey Moon? I’d say they are pretty spot on with the cheer and deliciousness.
CS: Christmas in a cup.
Art Director Laura Mathis: After reading all this, now I regret not ordering anything!
