There are standard garden gazebos, and then thereโs the one on Chad and Angie McGeeโs property on St. George Road.
Quite the handyman, Chad built the familyโs home as well as the gazebo. But the latter wasnโt stocked with enviable amenities and sentimental decor until recently, and when that process started, he went all out.
The gazeboโs TV and sound system make it a sports-watching paradise, and it features a built-in brick fireplace and, for good measure, another firepit.
The spot is especially popular with the McGeesโ football-loving grandchildren.
โItโs all about football,โ Angie says. โSometimes we have one game on here and a different one (inside the house). It just kind of depends on who gets here first and who grabs the TV, whoโs playing. We call it soup Sunday. I just send a group text out to our two sons who live here and say, whoโs coming for soup Sunday?โ
A hunter and fan of antique signage, Chad decorated the gazebo with hunting paraphernalia and wilderness relics such as deer antlers and a compound hunting bow. Itโs a great entertaining spot, with plenty of seating just off an in-ground pool.
Although summer and fall are popular times to gather in the gazebo, the couple make use of their cozy outdoor space 12 months of the year.
โI love it when it snows,โ Angie says.
