Owners Amy Rivers Word-Smith and Sara Wolfe play off their restaurant’s name with quirky menus where section titles are written in pig Latin. The staff held their grand opening Nov. 5. Ninki Japanese Bistro is now open at 4222 Bell Road, Ste. 7 in Newburgh, Indiana. The restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is now open at 2848 N. Green River Road in front of Menards. The restaurant offers steak burgers, hot dogs, various sandwiches, and frozen custard.

Toast, 1550 Mesker Park Drive, hosts eVEGANings on Tuesday nights, offering vegan entrees along with their full menu. Salad World on Evansville’s West Side has been rebranded as Fool Moon Grill and Bar, located at 5625 Pearl Drive. The restaurant offers appetizers, wings, signature salads, and burgers. The Pizza Revolution debuted their double-decker bus at the final days of the Downtown Farmers Market at the end of September and beginning of October. The bus provides seating for patrons in the top level. Mission BBQ is coming to the Eastland Shoppes shopping center at 1500 N. Green River Road. The fast-casual eatery is dedicated to honoring local military service members, police officers, and firemen. The ever-evolving menu is inspired by the best barbeque flavors for brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs found in every corner of the nation. The owners of Angelo’s Italian Restaurant in Downtown Evansville have announced plans to open a second location in Newburgh, Indiana. Little Angelo’s will open in mid-November and will feature full-service lunch and dinner, and a similar menu to the Downtown restaurant. It will be located in the former Bordy’s Pizza on Bell Road. The Kite & Key Café is set to open soon on Franklin Street. Tim Mills, owner of Madeleine’s Fusion Restaurant, has announced he will open Walton’s International Comfort Food near Haynie’s Corner, on S.E. Second St. The menu will include wood-fired pizzas, deli and bakery items, and Vietnamese Pho, which is a hot, noodle soup. Franklin Street also will welcome a new restaurant, Franklin Street Pizza Factory. The building is located at 2033 W. Franklin St., and expected to open soon. The historic Greyhound Station in Downtown Evansville has a new tenant. Indiana Landmarks chose BRU Burger Bar, a member of the Cunningham Restaurant Group, to fill the empty space. Construction on the interior will begin soon and the restaurant is expected to open in June 2016. BRU Burger features gourmet burgers, salads, sandwiches, and craft beer.

Gemeca Inn, 802 E. Locust St. in Fort Branch, Indiana, is now closed. The restaurant shut its doors after a fire Sept. 12.
