Inspired by delicious small plates, Spanish wine, and the ambience of a European bistro, guests at Sips and Strokes, held twice monthly on Tuesday evenings at Eclipse Bistro, Tapas & More, leave the restaurant, located at 113 Fourth St. in Downtown Evansville, toting their own painting created with the help of local artist Cynthia Watson.
“I met (Watson) at Funk in the City not too long ago and she had some art for sale that I really loved,” says Sandra Soto, Eclipse owner of five years and Evansville resident of 10 years. “We got to talking and she told me that if I ever wanted to hold lessons at Eclipse, she would love to lead them. That’s how Sips and Strokes came to be.”
The cost to participate in a Sips and Strokes evening is $49, cash only, which covers the cost of food tasting and paint supplies. The event also is reservation only. Beverages, like wine, beer, and cocktails, also will be available for purchase along with coffee, desserts, and more.
“In just two hours at Eclipse, customers can create their own masterpiece,” says Soto. “We all have some artistic ability inside of us.”
Participate in a Sips and Strokes evening at Eclipse Bistro during the following Tuesdays: Nov. 17, snowman canvas painting, Dec.1, wine glass canvas painting, Dec. 8, winter scene canvas painting, and Jan. 19, to be announced.
