Tiki Time Bar & Grill, 1801 Waterworks Road, has reopened for the 2016 season. Commander’s Grill has opened its doors in Boonville, Indiana, at 118 W. Locust St. It pays homage to Boonville’s own Commander Ralph D. Weyerbacher, who designed, built, and piloted the U.S.S. Shenandoah, a zeppelin aircraft. Kite & Key Café, 2301 W. Franklin St., is now open. The restaurant and coffee shop serves breakfast and lunch as well as espresso drinks and desserts. Unplugged Ale House, 329 Main St., celebrated its grand opening on April 16. The bar has live music and also is open for lunch serving burgers, wraps, wings, salads, and more. Black Lodge Coffee Roasters, 610 Church St., opened on April 20 in the Cooper Shop site in New Harmony, Indiana. Nacho’s Grill, 821-B S. Green River Road, the former location of La Cabana, has opened with a large selection of Mexican cuisine. Taste of NYC, located in Eastland Mall’s food court, has reopened after 31 years. Franklin Street Pizza Factory, 2033 W. Franklin St., has now opened as a brick oven pizza restaurant.

Vegetable Land Café has moved and is now serving vegan meals to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays downstairs in the Zion Center at 415 N.W. Fifth St. The owners of Azzip Pizza recently announced they plan to open a location in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in the summer. The former The Great American Bagel building at Morgan Avenue and Stockwell Road may get a new owner this year. A sign in front of the building touts the Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina Mexican restaurant will open in the building. Kirby’s Private Dining owner Scott A. Schymik announced the company is changing its name to The Ballroom. The interior of the event facility also is undergoing renovations. Café Arazu plans to open a new restaurant on Main Street later this summer in the former Jungle Restaurant. Lin’s Asian Express could soon replace First Avenue Diner, which closed in early February. The new restaurant was discussed at a Site Review committee meeting in April. Restaurant owner Jayson Munoz has launched a new food truck onto the Evansville scene. The truck called Roll Out features gourmet egg rolls such as buffalo chicken, Philly cheesesteak, reuben, gyro, and more. Munoz will have the truck at the Farm to Truck event Wednesdays at The Refinery in Newburgh, Indiana, the Franklin Street Bazaar, and the Downtown Evansville Farmers Market on Fridays. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has added fried pickles to its limited-time offer menu alongside the Cookie Butter Concrete, a vanilla frozen custard blended with cookie butter made from Belgian spice cookies. The items are available until June 15. Two new Jimmy John’s locations are planned to open by late summer, including one on N. Green River Road in front of Meijer and another in the former Rogers Jewelers building Downtown.

Ambartaj, 4951 W. Lloyd Expressway, has closed. Winzerwald Winery’s Evansville Tasting Room, 2021 Franklin St., closed its doors to concentrate efforts on an expansion at the main winery in Bristow, Indiana.
