River City Rodeo

Vanderburgh County 4H Fair, 201 E. Boonville-New Harmony Road
Experience adrenaline-fueled action with two nights of professional rodeo at the Vanderburgh County 4H Center. Some of the top cowboys and cowgirls in the country will be in Evansville on a quest to make it to the National Finals Rodeo in Arlington, Texas. Rodeo events include bull, bareback, and saddle bronc riding; team roping; barrel racing; steer wrestling; and calf roping.

Rockin The Park
5 p.m. May 16
Garvin Park, 1600 N. Main St.
This DJ concert series in Garvin Park will run on the first and third Sunday of each month until August 15. Music is free, but songs can be requested with a $5 donation to one of three worthy causes: It Takes a Village, Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry, and Music in the Park Fund. Hosted by Space Monkey Records, classic rock mega tracks will be played from the bandstand in Garvin Park. Rock a Burger food truck will be on hand to serve up tasty burgers.

Robert Owen’s 250th Birthday

Historic New Harmony, Indiana, is throwing a birthday party, and you are invited. Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of philanthropist Robert Owen, who purchased the town in 1825 with the idea of creating a utopia, at Owen Square across from Thrall’s Opera House.
