Crowning Glory

If you peruse the shops lining the streets of downtown Owensboro, Kentucky, you may have seen a 3-foot-wide, 2-foot-deep, Tiffany-style chandelier hanging in Peachtree Gallery Antiques, 108 W. Second St.

The stained glass chandelier is valued around $3,000, though it is not for sale, according to owner Larry Peech.

“It has a lot of beautiful colors in it — bright blues, burgundies,” says Peech. “It has that Italian look.”

The store, which has been in business for more than 25 years, sells a variety of antique pieces purchased from all over the U.S.

Peech never knows what he will find or when he will find it, but after 25 years of owning the shop, he has formed an expansive collection of antique pieces that are on display in Peachtree.

“We sell everything from American to European,” says Peech. “Everything from fine paintings to pieces of furniture that date back to 1850.”

The chandelier, which has been hanging in the store for longer than Peech can remember, is one of the business’s prized possessions.
