Plant Detective: Earth Day Scavenger Hunt

Earth Day at Wesselman Woods
April 21-22
Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, 551 N. Boeke Road
Evansville’s urban forest and wetlands each have a full weekend celebration planned. Enjoy giveaways and nature-themed fun, including educational activities, guided hikes, animal encounters, community guests, special programming, and local food trucks. Admission is free.

Earth Day Take and Plant Kits
April 22
Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Stringtown branch, 2100 Stringtown Road
Pick up a planting kit that includes a biodegradable pot, soil, and seeds at EVPL’s Stringtown location.

Party for the Planet
10 a.m.-1 p.m. April 22
Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden, 1545 Mesker Park Dr.
Celebrate the planet with animal encounters, Earth Day giveaways, community vendors, keeper chats, local mascot costumes, and lawn games plus live music, a scavenger hunt, an art contest display, and more. This event is free with general admission or a zoo member’s pass.

Super Saturday: E(art)h Day
11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 22
Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science, 411 S.E. Riverside Drive
Put the “art” in “Earth” by creating some plant-friendly works and more. All activities are included with museum admission, which costs $12 for adults and $8 for youth. Children under three get in for free.
