Organizers of the second annual Dancing with Our Stars, Evansville Style were thrilled when more than 315 tickets were snapped up. After cocktails and dinner at St. Mary’s Manor Auditorium, guests watched local celebs and dance professionals perform mambas, waltzes, and merengue, swing, and tango numbers. Dr. Mureena Turnquest Wells and David Bell won the People’s Choice Award, and Jim Maniatis and Carrie Newman were named event champions. Jack Schriber, who danced last year, emceed the May 15 event, and development director Angie Richards Cooley reports that more than $50,000 was raised for St. Vincent’s Day Care Center.
