BBQ Nachos and Chips and Queso: Begin with crisp tortilla chips and creamy queso before ordering the BBQ Nachos, which have house queso topped over pulled pork, slaw, corn and avocado salsa, and BBQ sauce.

First Impression: Three words: So many choices. That’s what the culinary duo of Jayson Munoz and Dr. Mark Logan, who together opened the popular Commonwealth Kitchen + Bar in Henderson, Kentucky, offer at this modern taqueria. Adventure away from the traditional taco and mix it up with the BBQ Nachos that are bursting with fresh ingredients. Start with the queso and chips, which were some of the best I’ve had in awhile. The modern outdoor seating with more than 80 beer and wine choices at the bar made for a relaxing and fun atmosphere.

Repeat Worthy? Yes! Come for lunch or dinner, or simply choose one of the many starters and drink options and spend a few hours.

STL Bizza: The traditionally known pizza bagel gets a twist inspired by the St. Louis pizza, which is made with Provel cheese. Add homemade marinara and pepperoni, all on a toasted plain bagel.

First Impression: Bagelrama comes to Downtown Evansville from Henderson, Kentucky, and we hope it’s here to stay. The traditional pizza bagel is spiced up with The STL Bizza with the melt in your mouth goodness of Provel cheese. Add chips and a drink for $6.59 in an everyday lunch special.

Repeat Worthy? Yes, and come hungry! The STL Bizza is no lightweight snack.

Jayne Roll: The Jayne Roll is a special raw and cooked sushi roll with cooked eel, spicy crab, and cucumber with fresh salmon and avocado on top.

First Impression: I cleared my plate at the new Zuki location at 222 Main St. The Jayne Roll was the perfect mix of spicy and cool, and a great introduction to sushi for those new to it like myself, and at the same time, a favorite for the experienced sushi diner.

Repeat Worthy? The atmosphere and interior of the Downtown Evansville location is exceptional. Match it with delicious sushi and hibachi options, and that’s what I call a fine dining experience.
