When deciding where to go for brunch, a long list of restaurants probably pop in your head; but some of the best brunch options in Evansville often go overlooked.
At the Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard Marriott on the East Side, the staffs are proving hotel food is more than the typical buffet.
“We have several people who come in knowing they can get a good breakfast and bring their families,” says Jennifer Birk, assistant general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn. “I know some people think you have to have a room here to eat here, but you don’t.”
A big draw for regulars to the Hilton Garden Inn is the bang they get for their buck. Breakfast and brunch is $9.95, which includes everything on the buffet in addition to any menu items like French toast, loaded hash browns, or omelets.
At the Courtyard Marriott, it’s the fresh and ever-changing menu that attracts morning diners. With options ranging from avocado toast and breakfast burritos to blueberry pancakes with lemon ricotta and syrup, the brunch options are not what people expect to find at a hotel.
“The Bistro is actually one of the best parts,” says Lisa Gengelbach, general manager of Courtyard Marriott. “There’s a wide variety; there really is. This is stuff that would be at a nicer restaurant. It’s not just your typical hotel breakfast.”
