Fireworks will light up the sky Tuesday, July 4, as Americans observe Independence Day. Staying in the Tri-State? Here are some local locations to celebrate.

Independence Day Celebration
6 p.m. July 1
North Park Wesleyan Church, 3360 N. First Ave.
Bring your own yard games and side dishes and feast on provided hotdogs and hamburgers. Once it gets dark, enjoy a fireworks show.

The Hills Red Hot and Boom
6 p.m. July 2
The Hills Church, 5025 Constellation Ave.
You won’t stay dry at this celebration, with wet inflatables, water games, and a belly-flop contest before a fireworks show.

Independence Day Celebration
5-10 p.m. July 3
Audubon Mill Park, 123 N. Water St., Henderson, Kentucky
Enjoy face painting and live music from Old Dam Community Band and the 202nd Army Band. End the night with fireworks.

Freedom Run
8 a.m. July 4
Friedman Park, 2700 Park Blvd., Newburgh, Indiana
Run a 5K loop around Friedman Park to honor Americans’ freedom, plus receive a finisher medal, T-shirt, and pulled pork sandwiches with potato salad after the race.

Annual Freedom Festival
5-9:30 p.m. July 4
Gibson County Courthouse, 101 N. Main St., Princeton, Indiana; Gibson County Fairgrounds, 709 N. Embree St., Princeton, Indiana
Start the evening with a car show and then tuck into food from Dawgs on the Ohio, Sips & Snacks, BB’s Wheeln & Grilln, Poppin’ John’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Clark Concessions during the night-ending fireworks display.
