Meet Chanda Ramsey

Welcome to our staff Q&A! Meet Chanda Ramsey, Tucker Publishing Groupโ€™s new art director.

Over the course of nearly 30 years, Chanda has developed an impressive portfolio directing publication design and communications at the Courier & Press and the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in fine art from the University of Southern Indiana and an Associate of Science in visual communications from Ivy Tech Community College. Chanda is an Evansville native and North High School graduate. When she is not producing magazines, she enjoys painting, tennis, hiking, and kayaking.

Why did you decide to join Tucker Publishing Group?

I have always enjoyed magazine and niche publication design work throughout my career. What better publication than your hometown magazine to design for?

What types of projects are your favorite to work on, and why?

I really enjoy the whole process from ad design to multiple page spreads. I like to organize and improve existing designs and starting from scratch. Really great photos get me excited and always enhance the layout โ€“ and provide a lot of design cues. (Thank you, photographers!)

What has been your favorite magazine issue that TPG has published?

I really enjoy the Best of the City and City View issues.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?

I would like to visit any place that is different from where I reside. Iโ€™ve visited Italy and France, but I would jump at the chance to go anywhere in the U.S. and international. Travel makes us better humans, and we all need more of it!

What life experience would you choose to relive, and why?

Enjoying my children in their infancy again. They grow too fast.
