Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ohio Valley is hitting the bowling lanes to raise money for one-on-one mentoring programs in the area. The annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ biggest fundraiser each year with more than $47,000 raised last year through the event.
This year the bowling fundraiser will take place at Franklin Lanes, 1801 W. Franklin St., on two days with seven bowling sessions to choose from — 6 p.m. on April 18 and 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., or 7 p.m. on April 21. Teams of six people can register to play and raise $300 together. Individually, each participant must raise at least $25 to play.
All of the proceeds from the event go toward the organization’s mentoring programs in area schools and the community that are dedicated to improving the lives of children in the community.
