Haynie’s Corner Arts District First Friday

Celebrate the city’s arts and culture at 2022’s inaugural First Friday in Hayne’s Corner Arts District. This monthly celebration offers a variety of food trucks, vendors, and entertainment. Papa Bears Catering, Rock a Burger, and Sweet Dreams a la Mode are just a few of the food trucks that will be available this month, along with live music by Black Opry Revue and Sassafrass. Grab dinner or drinks at a Haynie’s Corner staple, such as Bokeh Lounge, Sauced, Mo’s House, or Haynie’s Corner Brewing Co.

SWIMGA Plant Sale

Looking to create a beautiful summer garden, or need a perfect Mother’s Day gift? For a selection of more than 15,000 plants and advice from master gardeners, attend the Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Association’s 2022 Plant Sale. This event is the Tri-State’s largest indoor plant sale, an event SWIMGA has been hosting for nearly 30 years. This year’s plant sale will offer perennial and annual flowers, native plants, succulents, vegetables, herbs, and more. SWIMGA members will be available to answer gardening questions and provide expert advice.

Evansville Police Foundation SWAT Challenge

Four Freedoms Monument, Downtown Evansville
Run, jump, climb, and crawl your way through Downtown Evansville during the Evansville Police Foundation’s SWAT Challenge. This is no regular 5K, as this race is full of physical challenges like climbing walls, jumping tires, and scaling a parking garage while weighed down with sandbags. Runners can enjoy interacting with the Evansville Police Department’s SWAT team, mounted patrol, and other personnel as they weave their way through Downtown. Registration is $40, and proceeds will be used by the foundation for advanced training for EPD’s SWAT team.

Downtown Evansville Sidewalk Sale

Downtown Evansville, Main St
Support local businesses at the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District’s annual Sidewalk Sale. More than 100 vendors, shops, and community members will line Main Street with their wares. Search for deals and bargains, and then enjoy brunch, coffee, or adult beverages at nearby eateries. Vendors at the sidewalk sale collect and keep 100% of their sale proceeds. Play a Round for the Y
11:30 a.m. May 7
Cambridge Golf Course, 1034 Beacon Hill
Enjoy a round of golf and support a good cause at the Play-A-round for the Y Golf Scramble. Each foursome will play an 18-hole scramble at Cambridge Golf Course. Registration is $150 per person, and each participant will receive a goodie bag and a commemorative gift, along with lunch and additional refreshments. Proceeds from this event support the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana’s Community Outreach Branch so it can continue to provide community support and programs for local youth.
