New Traditions Diversity Series

Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, 551 N. Boeke Road
Make sure to bring a lawn chair and a blanket to this show by the Evansville Philharmonic’s Eykamp String Quartet, who will perform works by artists Aston Piazzolla, Anibal Troilo, Ricardo Lorenz, Kenji Bunch, Mohammad Fairouz, and Jennifer Hidgon.

2023 River City Rodeo
5 p.m. May 19; 11 a.m. May 20
Vanderburgh 4-H Grounds, 201 E. Boonville-New Harmony Road, Darmstadt, Indiana
This two-day event includes bull riding, mutton busting, roping, bronc riding, barrel racing, and line dancing, plus a country concert, petting zoo, barbecue masterclass, and games and activities for kids. Tickets are $20 per person.

Pop Up at The Exchange

Antique and vintage dealers, along with local artisans, will sell their wares from the loading dock and parking lot of The Exchange shopping center.

Peruse handmade goods, antiques, and artisan creations while enjoying live music, a bite to eat, and a drink at the beer and wine garden.

Spring Funk in the City Art Festival

Haynie’s Corner Arts District, Southeast Second Street and Adams Avenue
More than 70 local artists will display their work at this popular arts festival that includes food vendors and live music.

Going, Going, Gone to the Dogs Benefit Dinner & Auction
5:30-9 p.m. May 20
Old National Events Plaza, 715 Locust St.
Vanderburgh Humane Society’s largest fundraiser has a Disney theme this year and offers hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine, silent and live auctions, and dinner. The funds raised will support VHS’ adoption programs, medical clinic, spay and neuter campaigns, and other initiatives. Online donations also are accepted.

Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestras Spring Concert
7 p.m. May 20
Victory Theatre, 600 Main St.
The Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, led by conductor Chun Ming Chen, and Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra II, led by conductor Lee Veazey, will conclude their season with a spring concert. Tickets cost $15 and $5 for students and children.

19th Annual Walking for Dreams 2023 Family and Pet Walk
1-3 p.m. May 21
Bally’s Evansville Events Plaza, 421 N.W. Riverside Drive
Take a walk down the Evansville on Riverside Drive, plus live music by “Best of Evansville” award-winning band The Honey Vines, as the Sycamore Foundation raises money for local charities.

Tourette Syndrome Awareness Walk
1-4 p.m. May 21
CrossFit High Bar, 301 N. Stockwell Road
Join a 5K or mile-long walk benefiting the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center. Attendees can stop to eat at participating food trucks, get their face painted, or hop on inflatables. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $5 for children.
