Whose Site Is It?

Perhaps you’ve exercised there or been one of the 2,348 who ran or walked (or painfully crawled) in their half marathon last year, but we’ve all done the dance. Under the revamped look and direction of the YMCA of the USA, the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana unveiled a new website this spring — four years before the organization with 2,687 branches required the switch.

Derrick Stewart, CEO of the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, chose to move early on the transition because he’s “excited about the change and wanted to be part of it from the beginning.” Stewart considers the new logo and website to be “vibrant” and “forward-looking,” projecting an image of fun and involvement for an organization that’s been housed on the block between Fifth and Sixth streets for 97 years.

Not only is the website easy on the eyes but also easy to navigate, Stewart says. Under “Locations,” select the Downtown or Dunigan Family Y (the East Side facility) to see location-specific information. From there, clear headings and links allow users to find such information as programs, schedules, special events, and volunteer and donation information

Don’t Miss:

A direct link to Activtrax, a free-with-membership virtual trainer, allows users to obtain customized workouts and nutritional guidance based on their personal needs and fitness goals. Through this link, users can print a detailed exercise plan to take to the gym and input the number of reps they performed after their workout.
