Light Up the Holidays

Residents in Evansville got extra festive this year with their outdoor decorations. While Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights is still a mainstay in many holiday traditions, homeowners across the city lent their creative hands to offer up bright and cheery reasons for others to drive by and admire. We used the popular Evansville Christmas Lights google map collection to view some lights and pick our top five spots! Don’t take our word for it — load up the car and take a drive to find your favorites.

1.) Lights on Pomona — This display at 3118 Pomona Drive tops a lot of lists, ours included! The fantastic display of trees, snowflakes, and singing light bulbs is synced with music to get you in the spirit. The display is so popular, a Facebook page has been created to keep the public up-to-date on songs, times, and more!

2.) The Christmas Train — Running along a fence line, the Christmas Train at 854 Lodge Ave. also features a beautiful walkway lined with bright presents and ending with two giant candy canes. A few other scenes in the lawn make this one of our favorites.

3.) Bright and Cheerful — Take a turn down Taylor Avenue, across from Akin Park for this wonderful display. The home, adorned with icicle lights, sets off a scene of Santa on the roof, a beautiful horse-drawn carriage, a manger scene, and more!

4.) Carnival of Lights — If you’ve already been through the Fantasy of Lights, head toward the Vanderburgh County 4-H Fairgrounds for another festive drive-thru display. Decorated Christmas trees, various holiday scenes, nutcrackers, and a lighted Santa greet you on your tour.

5.) Day at the North Pole — Just off Oak Hill Road, this display at 2626 Lake Drive features Santa in a helicopter along with favorite holiday characters and a message of Peace on Earth for all.
