Diners are satisfied by a multitude of cuisines

Henderson’s culinary scene has blossomed around a handful of longtime favorites, offering a robust menu appealing to many tastes. Anchoring the lineup are the four local restaurants on the West Kentucky BBQ Belt: Homer’s, Chef What BBQ & More, Taylor’s Grill On Wheels, and Thomason’s Barbecue.

Downtown Henderson is abuzz with diners thanks to more than a dozen places offering food and drinks, sweet treats, and coffee within walking distance of the Second and Main streets crossroad.

The dining scene is strong in other neighborhoods, too. The pioneering Crust & Roll features the unlikely combination of pizza and sushi on the west edge of town. There’s also the appealing combo of well-established favorites like Thomason’s Barbecue, Metzger’s Tavern, and The Dairiette, along with unique Mexican restaurants including Medina’s Mexican Store and Bodega Market Luncheria & Groceries, in and around Henderson’s East End.

According to the Henderson Tourist Commission, favorite “tastes” recommended by locals include extreme milkshakes from The Dairiette, a filet mignon and Arabian salad from Rookies
Sports Bar & Grill, The Bridgeview ESB from Henderson Brewing Co., street tacos from Bodega Market Luncheria & Groceries, strombolis from Rockhouse on the River, a Silk Velvet Cucumber Whiskey Sour from Cap & Cork, and award-winning burgers from Metzger’s Tavern.
