Tucker Publishing Group, along with Hirsch Custom Homes, announced in August the beginning of a new Idea Home project to be located in the Estates of Victoria National in Newburgh, Indiana. The sixth Idea Home for Evansville Living is set to be one of the most interesting yet, combining the latest in décor and interior design with architecture unique to the area.
“It is going to have a feel that is very different than what we are used to seeing in the Tri-State,” says Glen Miller of Hirsch Custom Homes. “It’s going to be really special to see this end product and what it all looks like.”
Rick Guina with GB Architecture — a California architect who is a relative of the homeowner — has designed the project, with Lamar Architecture and Design providing renderings. Hirsch Custom Homes not only is the contractor for the home, but also is serving as presenting sponsor for the project while ERA Realtors are a premier sponsor.
“We are really happy to again produce this Evansville Living signature project,” says Kristen K. Tucker, publisher and editor of Evansville Living. “The Idea Home 2020 will bring together the home building and home décor community along with a charitable partner.”
Each Idea Home also has served as a fundraiser for a local charity — for the 2020 Idea Home, it was a unanimous decision by everyone involved to select the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley as the benefactor.
“RMHC’s mission is to provide a home-like environment for the health and well being of children and their families, and by partnering on this great opportunity, we’re going to be able to do that,” says RMHC Executive Director Theresa Floyd-Maas.
RMHC of the Ohio Valley currently is building its second house within the Deaconess Gateway complex. According to Floyd-Maas, this home will allow the organization to triple the number of families they can serve.
“When you say home, there really is nothing like a home — that is something we’re able to offer families whose children are receiving critical care,” she says.
The 2020 Idea Home will be open for public tours beginning Nov. 14, 2020. Funds raised from tour ticket sales will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The staff of Evansville Living will follow the progress of the home with updates in the upcoming issues of the magazine.
