Forget misspelled names on coffee cups. Lucid’s flavorful pour over coffee reintroduces personalized coffee to the morning routine or afternoon break. You simply choose the bean, and Ben Madson, co-owner and general manager, takes care of the rest.
“Every cup is made to order,” says Madson, who has been running the traditional coffee cart located in The Bitterman Shoppes & Farmer’s Market, 204 Main St., with his wife Lillie Madson since February. “You can choose from our seasonal collection of 15 types of Sunergos Coffee (of Louisville, Kentucky) beans, and I grind the bean to a specific size, heat the water to a specific temperature, and slowly pour the water over the grounds to let them bloom and extract for about two to three minutes.”
After a cream and sweetener of choice, the end result is a delicious coffee designed just for you and the pleasure of seeing a fellow coffee lover in his element. Lucid also serves a collection of teas and has an espresso machine.
Lucid is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday through Saturday, and plans to expand its hours soon. The shop also participates in the Franklin Street Bazaar, which runs every Saturday from June to September.
