Salad World Grill and Deli East, 724 N. Burkhardt Road, is now open. The location serves salads, wraps, potatoes, chicken dishes, soups, and more. La Cabana, 821 S. Green River Road, has reopened to offer authentic Mexican entrees and seafood. Crazy Sake, 5720 E. Virginia St., is open in the former Nagasaki Inn location. The restaurant offers Japanese hibachi and sushi. An outpost of Angelo’s has opened in Newburgh, Indiana. Little Angelo’s, 8000 Bell Oaks Drive, has a full-service lunch and dinner, with a menu similar to Angelo’s, located in Downtown. Tropicana Evansville, 421 N.W. Riverside Drive, has opened a dining option on the second level mezzanine in the former Temptations Buffet location. The Kitchen Buffet offers home-style food for breakfast and lunch daily, and serves a dinner buffet Friday and Saturday nights. Walton’s International Comfort Food, 956 Parrett St., is now open. The restaurant, opened by Tim Mills of Madeleine’s Fusion Restaurant, offers wood-fired pizzas, deli and bakery items, and Vietnamese Pho. Herradura Mexican Restaurant Bar & Grill, in the former Sirloin Stockade building at 4610 Bellemeade Ave., is now open. The restaurant offers Mexican dishes and a bar.

Nibbles

The former Farmer’s Daughter building at Third and Main streets will be the new home for the second location of The Cross-Eyed Cricket. Father and son team Fernando and Josh Tudela say the menu of the second restaurant will be similar to the existing at 2201 W. Lloyd Expressway. Noble Roman’s has submitted a request to open a location at 3931 W. Lloyd Expressway in front of Kohl’s. The pizzeria currently has one location in Washington Square Mall. Sunshine Juice Co. has changed ownership. Chelsi Carter announced she is the new owner of the company, located inside The Bitterman Mini Shoppes & Farmers Market. A new food cart has made its home in Evansville; River City Dawgs, owned by Kent and Jennifer Greathouse, serves gourmet hot dogs with various topping options. The cart often is located in front of the Franklin Street Tavern at the corner of Franklin Street and 11th Avenue, but also travels to various other locations in town. Sun King Brewery, an Indianapolis brewery, has announced it has expanded its distribution to 39 counties across Southern Indiana, including the cities of Terre Haute, Evansville, Clarksville, and New Albany. It will be available in 16-ounce cans and on tap at more than 350 bars, restaurants, and liquor stores. Penny Lane Coffeehouse has announced its East Side location at 2004 Washington Ave. is going to stay open for business. The coffeehouse also will be changing the hours of its Downtown location, keeping its doors open later, and a West Side location on Franklin Street is planned to open in January. Zaxby’s has officially broken ground on its new restaurant at 1021 Burkhardt Road in The Promenade of Evansville. The restaurant, which offers chicken wings, chicken fingers, sandwiches, salads, and more, is expected to open in April. The Ice Island Grill, 325 S. Green River Road, has closed for the season and is scheduled to reopen in February. Hooters, 4520 Lincoln Ave., has recently completed a renovation of its location, which included a new 3D LED façade, new tables, and the addition of more than 40 TVs. A new restaurant, Philly Grill, is slated to open in the Schnucks Commons at Boonville New Harmony Road.

Dearly Departed

Pizza Hut, 4700 W. Lloyd Expressway, has closed. Longfellow Barbecue, 830 LST Drive, has closed as the owners plan to turn their focus to their line of barbecue sauces, Sir Dax Longfellow Barbecue Company.
