Hole in One

The donut balls at Donut Bank are on par with the rest of its popular bakery menu, but the November Donut Ball of the Month is standing out from the rest.

Red velvet cake traditionally is a careful blend of key ingredients like cocoa powder, vinegar, and buttermilk that produces a milder taste than chocolate and a sponge cake of finer consistency. Donut Bank’s donut balls offer the best of both words: a velvety cake interior coated in a delectable donut glaze.

Back again for the holidays, the red velvet donut balls join other seasonal favorites for the month, pumpkin cake donuts and pumpkin praline muffins. Sold individually for 99 cents or by the dozen for $4.99, these perfectly moist, finger-food treats are a great option for morning meetings, family gatherings, breakfast on the go, or a snack anytime.

Here’s what the Evansville Living staff thinks about this two-bite breakfast:

“These donut balls are quite the sweet treat,” says Staff Writer Riley Guerzini. “If you enjoy red velvet cake, then you’ll love this latest Donut Bank special.”

“Donut Bank’s donut balls are always the perfect, bite-size pick-me-up when I need a treat, and the nuances of red velvet add just enough flavor to take things up a notch,” says Managing Editor Jodi Keen.

“The red velvet donut holes have a good, cakey texture that meshed with the donut glaze so well,” says Senior Graphic Designer Casey Scarbrough. “Excellent with a sip of coffee.”

The red velvet donut balls are only available for the month of November during Donut Bank’s recently announced temporary hours. Until further notice, all locations are open every day from 5 a.m.-3 p.m., except for the Diamond Avenue location (1031 E. Diamond Ave.) which is open 5 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 5 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Check Donut Bank’s Facebook page for updates on hours of operations.
