Fa La La La Photo Ops

Snap a selfie at one of Downtown’s holiday displays

Looking for a great photo op while out holiday shopping? Main Street has just the backdrop — actually, several. The Downtown Evansville Improvement District has installed 11 seasonal displays — featuring several returning favorites — along six blocks of Main Street, offering cheerful, kitschy, and classic spots for your next holiday selfie.

Lighted Archway
Start your walk up Main Street at the intersection with Second Street, where the city’s iconic iron arch is illuminated by glowing blue and white snowflakes, with 12-foot Nutcrackers standing guard.

Decorated Fountain
Usually flowing with water during warmer times of year, this historic stone drinking spot for horses was first installed in 1910 on North First Avenue and now offers a colorful nod to classic Christmas tree decorations in the 300 block of Main Street.

Are you tangled in holiday preparations? This new installation hears you. Laugh it off around these unspooled lights at 123 Main St. near Old National Bank’s headquarters. Then, cap off your dazzling visit Downtown with a walk through the crowd-favorite Tunnel of Light on Old National Bank’s lawn along Riverside Drive.
