To show how stories in our July/August 2012 issue fit into the broader context of world events, this edition of Link Up brings the Internet to you. No Google search required.
Home Sweet Home
Norm and Vivian Miller graciously shared with us their unique journey in building their home alongside Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh, Ind. Our story, “Focused on the Family,” explains the family history of that property, and gives a look inside the beautiful, luxurious home. Although a bit smaller and a little less noticeable, these camouflaged getaways provide their own luxurious living.
Health Nuts
In this issue’s Healthy Living section, we discovered how donated breast milk is saving babies’ lives (“Milk for Baby”), how parents can help combat their child’s anxiety disorder (“A Healthy Mind”), and how some of the most prevalent health issues can be prevented (“Beating the Odds”). Since obesity is one of the most preventable and common health problems in today’s society, we were intrigued by this personal trainer’s extreme story on how he gained weight to empathize with his clients.
Five-Star Camping
Our cover story, “Retro Relaxing,” takes readers through the revamped and retro Airstream camper owned by local architect Mike Martin and his wife, Rachel. The aluminum, 1987 trailer was completely gutted and renovated by the couple, and now boasts a retro-meets-modern style equipped with all the living essentials, including a full bathroom, bedroom, dining area, and lounge. Here, check out some other ways to camp in style.
