Meet Adin Parks

Meet Adin Parks, a rising junior at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Louisville, Kentucky, native is studying photojournalism with a minor in entrepreneurship and is performing a photography fellowship this summer with Tucker Publishing Group. Parks is involved with Cru, a Christian campus ministry; the College Heights Herald student newspaper; and the Talisman, Western’s student magazine.

What types of things are your favorite to photograph, and why?

I love to photograph anything that has to do with humanity as a whole. I prefer to shoot news photography and to make images that hold genuine moments of connection between individuals.

Why did you decide to intern at Tucker Publishing Group?

I chose Tucker Publishing Group because I was interested in working for a large magazine and producing editorial photographs for a larger community. Evansville fits those criteria quite well.

What experiences do you hope to have while working for TPG?

I would love to build my technological skill of photography, as well as my intrapersonal skills. I love to meet people and connect with them over photography. I’ve also never dug into certain photography styles, so I’m excited to try them out this summer with Tucker Publishing Group.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?

I would probably visit Tokyo, Japan. I’ve recently visited New York City for a small trip, and I loved the feel of a big city. I would be super interested in going to Tokyo not only for the size of the city, but for the history and the visuals. An added bonus is that I really like the Japanese culture of food!

What life experience would you choose to relive, and why?

I would choose to relive one of the many memories my friends and I shared in high school. We all lived less than three miles away from each other and were together almost every day in the summer.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to travel the globe as a journalist. I would be thrilled to connect my love of storytelling with my love of travel! I would get to do both of those items and love what I do.
