The Flavors of Love

Happy Valentine’s Day, Evansville! This weekend it’s all about love. Whether you celebrate a romantic evening with your partner or snuggle with your favorite furry friend for a night of rom-coms, one thing is for sure — you have to eat! Enjoy the holiday in style, with a full belly, by taking in these local Valentine’s specials for dine-in and takeout.

1) Prime Time Pub and Grill

The upscale sports bar at 8177 Bell Oaks Drive in Newburgh, Indiana, is offering an extravagant dinner for two — or one if you’re really hungry — on Feb. 13 and 14. Choose one of three appetizers, Prime Sticks with marinara, Italian flatbread, or fried pickles; select two entrees from ruby cut prime rib with two sides, grilled or fried chicken salad, blackened chicken fettuccine alfredo, or chicken parmesan; and treat yourself to red velvet cake all for $49.99.

2) Highland Inn

Taking an individual approach to Cupid Day dining, the Highland Inn at 6620 N. First Ave. is offering a special menu for $26 a person on Saturday, Feb. 13. The delicious meal includes bacon jam stuffed French-boned pork chop, grilled asparagus with honey garlic butter, and roasted baby bakers (baked potatoes). Top it all off with a spinach, pear, and walnut salad with poppyseed dressing and a classic red velvet cupcake.

3) Rockhouse on the River

While fine dining is often the go-to for Valentine’s dinners, the Tri-State still has holiday-themed options for picky eaters, casual celebrations, and pizza enthusiasts. Rockhouse on the River at 212 N. Water St. in Henderson, Kentucky, will serve large heart-shaped pizzas fresh from the oven from Feb. 8 to Feb. 15. Who said a celebration of love could only be one day?

4) Double D’s Restaurant

Starting at 4 p.m. Feb. 13 to whenever supplies last, Double D’s (1206 E. Main St., Boonville, IN) is bringing traditional surf and turf to the Tri-State. For $33.95, two people can split a generous filet and lobster tail and two sides of their choice. The special meal concludes with two chocolate covered strawberries and a slice of cake to share.
