To say our staff is excited about the opening of The Patisserie at 2nd Language (developed and owned by Pangea founder Randy Hobson) in Downtown Evansville is an understatement.
On The Patisserie’s menue, you can choose from house-made, flaky, artisanal croissants, Katsu sandwiches, and savory Ramen along with delicate Three-Day Donuts using an elaborately-crafted technique.
Every month, they are featuring three new donuts inspired by global, traditional, and indulgent flavors. This month’s flavors are Cranberry Cream Cheese with cranberry filling, Blueberry Matcha with a white chocolate topping, and Mocha Caramel. These delicious flavors are available until the end of January.
Our staff couldn’t wait to dig into these creamy, delectable pastries. Here are some of our thoughts:
“I’m all about cream cheese in any form, but that tangy glaze with tart cranberry and sweet pastry is the perfect balance. My favorite of the three,” says Creative Director Heather Gray.
“The blueberry matcha had a rich fruity flavor that mixed well with the light crispy dough of the donut,” says Staff Writer Dallas Carter.
“I’m a coffee lover, so I really enjoyed the combination of java and sweetness in the caramel mocha,” says Graphic Designer Casey Scarbrough.
To get your own taste of these sweet donuts, visit 2nd Language Downtown at 401 N.W. Second St. Tuesday through Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m.
