Third Annual River City 5 & 10 Miler
7 a.m. May 8
Garvin Park, 23 N. Main St.
The River City 10 Miler is back for Year Four. Presented by Ultimate Fit, the race will begin and end in Garvin Park and primarily use the Evansville Greenway Passage. Awards will be given to overall winners in both events as well as the top two male and female competitors in both distances. For all who entered into the event, one lucky winner will have the chance to draw for a custom-made medal display built by Roadrunner’s Woodworks. The race will go on no matter the weather, and proceeds will benefit the Viking Youth Tennis Program.

Evansville Reptile and Exotics Show
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. May 8
Vanderburgh County 4-H Fairgrounds Auditorium, 201 E. Boonville New Harmony Road
Enjoy an up-close experience with reptiles and other exotic animals. This family-friendly show allows attendees to see and learn about a variety of animals and and how to properly care for them. Concessions will be available from some of Evansville’s food trucks. Admission is $5 per person with free admission for kids 4 years old and younger.
Downtown Evansville Sidewalk Sale
9 a.m. – 2 p.m. May 8
Main Street, Downtown Evansville
Organized by the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District, the Downtown Sidewalk Sale will primarily take place along Main Street from Second to Fifth Streets. Main Street will be lined with sales from residents and merchants. Get ready to shop from a safe social distance and find great bargains.
Holiday Drive-In Opening Weekend
7:45 p.m. May 7 to May 9

A sure sign that summer is just around the corner, the historic Holiday Drive-in Theater kicks off the 2021 season with opening weekend on May 7. Screen one will show “Tom & Jerry” at 7:45 p.m. and “Godzilla vs. Kong” at 9:25 p.m., while “Mortal Kombat” and “the little things” play on screen two. Tickets are cash only and $10 for adults and $5 for children 4-11 years old.
